Material realities overwhelm Western culture as if they could meet all human needs. Then common sense protests and we see offers of spirituality multiply, even from non-believers. Christians are taking advantage of this craze. However, these are often festive spiritualities which give pride of place to spectacle and music. Why not ? But what about ordinary days?

Spirituality based on the teaching of Jesus aims precisely at the daily life because, he says, “Not all of those who say to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven. But only he who does my father's will. »

It is the biblical commandments which express this will. As they are very numerous, we need one that summarizes them all, a word that allows us to orient ourselves even in areas for which there is no commandment in the Bible. This word, Jesus gave it to us, it is the title of this work.

Having lived for more than twenty years in Africa, Charles-Daniel Maire became interested in cultural issues. As agent of the League for Bible Reading in France, he was editor of Bible reading guides. Retired, he intervenes in the Churches which call on him in France and beyond.
