13 theologians decipher 13 evangelical expressions in the light of the Bible
“God loves the sinner, but not the sin”, “The Christian faith is not a religion, but a relationship”, “Only God can judge me”, etc.
These common expressions sound like the Bible, use words from the Bible, but… are they in line with biblical truth? Are we right to say to someone: “Accept Jesus into your heart”? What implicit teaching does this way of thinking about the Gospel convey?
Faithful to its collaborative and interdenominational approach, the WET asked thirteen theologians to discern the truth from the falsehood behind these phrases that we are used to hearing… or saying. Let's confront our jargon with the truth of the Gospel and speak better!
