Most Christians know that the Jews were chosen by God to be His people on earth and that this people played an important role in the revelation of God to the world. In reality, the Bible was for the most part written by Jews and it is addressed first and foremost to them. All the prophets were Jewish and their message was directed to the people of Israel. But it seems that for most Christians, these notions have become secondary, if not obsolete. The title of this work is not intended to be provocative. It is rather the conclusion of years of study on the subject and several years of living in Israel, on the ground. During this period, I discovered that Israeli children learn the history of Christianity (and its horrors) in school. Unlike European children, from whom these things are hidden... Most Europeans think that the worst enemies of the Jews are the Muslims. But the historical reality is that, long before being hated by the Muslims, the Jews were hated, persecuted, and even driven out of our "Christian" European countries... 2000 years ago, the apostle Paul encouraged us (the non-Jews) to "provoke them to jealousy" (Romans 11:11). But when we take stock of Judeo-Christian relations over these two millennia, we must admit that instead of provoking the Jews "to jealousy," the Church has rather provoked them to mistrust and anger... And this is also a reason why we can speak of the "failure of the Church" regarding the Jews." - Luc Henrist
