The Faculty of Evangelical Theology (of Vaux-sur-Seine) offers preachers, teachers and all attentive readers of the Scriptures a collection of works devoted to the precise and detailed explanation of all the books of the two testaments of the Bible. After an introduction, including the examination of historical and literary problems, the commentary emphasizes the elucidation of the text and the difficulties, on exegesis itself, the foundation of any possible application. It uses the resources of philology, history, archaeology, but the reader will be able to follow it without knowing the original languages, thanks to the transcription of Hebrew and Greek words; the commentary also refers to the main French versions of the Bible.
Brian Tidiman, who holds a doctorate in theology from the Faculty of Protestant Theology in Strasbourg, taught for many years at the Emmaus Bible and Missionary Institute in Saint-Légier (Switzerland), as well as at the Bible Institute in Nogent-sur-Marne.
He is the author of several commentaries in the collection “Commentaire évangélique de la Bible” and of the Outline of the Biblical History of Israel published by the Biblical Institute of Nogent-sur-Marne.
