The Faculty of Evangelical Theology (of Vaux-sur-Seine) offers preachers, teachers and all attentive readers of the Scriptures a collection of works devoted to the precise and detailed explanation of all the books of the two testaments of the Bible.
After an introduction, including the examination of historical and literary problems, the commentary emphasizes the elucidation of the text and the difficulties, on the exegesis itself, the foundation of any possible application. It uses the resources of philology, history, and archaeology, but the reader will be able to follow it without knowing the original languages, thanks to the transcription of Hebrew and Greek words; the commentary also refers to the main French versions of the Bible.
Peter Jones, born in Liverpool (UK), studied at the University of Wales, then in the United States at the Gordon Divinity School, Harvard and Princeton Seminary; he defended his doctoral thesis there, the theme of which is: The Apostle Paul, a second Moses. From 1974 to 1991, he was professor of New Testament at the Free Faculty of Reformed Theology of Aix-en-Provence. Since then, he has taught the same course at Westminster Seminary in Escondido (California, United States).
