The Bible, which has its place in celebrations, worship, catechesis and in various Christian gatherings, can have varied forms of presentation adapted to circumstances and audiences. This is why, after several collections which have been well received in all circles of the French-speaking world, here is a new series of unpublished texts intended for public presentations, based on the biblical text.
In this volume you will find nearly 50 sketches and monologues based on the Gospel of Matthew and Mark.
The sketches are short scenes that are often amusing. Through humor they allow you to discover certain surprising aspects of the biblical stories and invite everyone to find themselves in one character or another. The actors will have to bring the characters to life without caricature, but by taking advantage of the words and the very simple acting suggested by the text.
The monologues, said in theatrical form or in the form of a story, feature a character who is a more or less direct witness to a biblical event. Here too, humor allows us to approach the Bible from new angles, while faithfully bearing witness to the initial content.
The author published a first volume of The Gospel in Sketches and Monologues Luc and Jean in 2012.
