Interpretations of Jesus are full of prejudice. He is a powerful figure whom people want to claim for themselves; therefore, they are ready to recreate him in their own image in order to gain his support. New Age followers make him an example of finding God within oneself. And radical feminists strip him of his divinity so that Christianity does not appear sexist.
Frankly, it is difficult to escape the feeling that our culture has taken the question of Jesus: "Who do you say that I am?" and changed it into "Who do you want me to be?" That said, as you discover the life of Jesus Christ, I hope you will go a little further, that you will have a clearer vision of Jesus’ life and that you will begin to see the world differently—your world and the one that surrounds you—but also gain a personal and intimate knowledge by answering the question: "Who is Jesus?"
