Theological reflections from five continents
Evangelical Missiology Network for the French-speaking World
This is a work on a delicate subject: the relationship between the Gospel and culture. Given the breadth of this issue, this book can only offer a partial perspective, even though it covers all five continents. The authors, evangelical theologians from Europe and Asia, wrote their texts under the direction of a missiologist with experience in the Global South, the Far East, and the West. These texts are the fruit of theological reflection that seeks to be evangelical, combined with concrete field experience.
As they turn the pages, readers will discover the various ingredients that inevitably constitute a serious treatment of the subject: the passion of the confrontation—even clash—between biblical teaching and the beliefs and values of cultures and religions, a questioning of both individual and group identity, and the highlighting of aspects of the biblical text never before discovered or even suspected.
