Menno Simons' first treatises:
A meditation on Psalm 25; The new birth; Foundation of Christian doctrine.

Professing Christians are rediscovering with great interest their origins in the multifaceted movement of the reforms of the 16th century. The Mennonite churches still bear witness today to the durability of the radical branch of the Reformation.

Menno Simon (1496-1561) was not strictly speaking their founder, but he did preserve early Anabaptism from division, anarchy and doctrinal inconsistency. Originally a Catholic priest, Menno Simons gave the Anabaptist movement, which he joined in 1536, solid theological foundations that allowed it to continue, in its peaceful form, to the present day.

His first treatises bear witness to the originality of his thought.

After studying theology and history, François Caudwell became a teacher. He then exercised pastoral ministry in the Mennonite church of La Chaux de Fonds in Switzerland. He is currently pastor of the Reformed church of the canton of Neuchâtel.
