The chrysalis refers to the process of transformation of the larva into a caterpillar, of the caterpillar into a chrysalis and finally of the chrysalis into a butterfly. It is a single organism, with identical DNA, but which exists in various forms resulting from the transformations it goes through throughout its life.
This succession of radical transformations is paralleled by the journey of faith. Indeed, this journey is also made up of periods of profound changes that make us grow. It is a journey during which it is easy to get lost. Periods of crisis cause bitter disappointments and multiple opportunities for abandonment. But these dead ends are not inevitable. Crises of faith are powerful vectors of change, allowing us to abandon the past and discover God in a new way.
This work draws on the Scriptures, on the tradition of the Church as well as on the most recent analyses of sociology and psychology.
It is intended for those who seek meaning in their journey of faith and the crises they are going through, as well as for people who, without necessarily encountering suffering, perceive that their faith is awakening to new horizons. It will also be very useful for those who wish to understand or accompany a friend who is going through a difficult time.
