Confessions of a Rapper
Growing up in difficult neighborhoods without his father, young Lecrae is tempted by gangs, but he ultimately takes refuge in music and, regularly, in the possibilities of getting high that weed offers him. A gifted hip-hop artist, he nevertheless struggles to find his place in society. After a “divine encounter”, he sometimes falls back into his faults… or falls into others.
How to reconcile your faith and your music? Will he take shelter in Christian circles or seek to convey his new values in a world of rap often marked by violence and misogyny, at the risk of finding himself on the margins again? Will he manage to express himself without any shame everywhere?
Somewhat chaotic, his journey nevertheless led Lecrae to be recognized today in the world of hip-hop. He presents it here in complete frankness, without forgetting to develop thoughts on the relationship between culture and faith that go off the beaten track.
