About the CLC
The Christian Literature Centre (CLC) Canada is a non-profit organization, a ministry established in Canada for over 70 years. Our mission is to facilitate access to the Christian faith and contribute to spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ through literature.
The CLC is currently established in 44 countries. It is represented by more than 120 bookstores, 18 distribution warehouses, and 22 publishing houses. Today, with three bookstores on the Island of Montreal, a distribution center, and a publishing house in development, CLC Canada is the largest distributor of Bibles and French-language Christian literature in North America.
Position: Bookseller
CLC Canada is currently seeking a passionate bookseller with a love for books and customer service to join its team. As a bookseller, you will play a vital role in the customer experience by advising them and ensuring the smooth operation of the bookstore.
Responsibilities
- Assisting customers in choosing books;
- To welcome, advise and guide customers according to their needs;
- Process transactions at the cash register and ensure excellent customer service;
- Receiving, classifying and storing books and other products in the store;
- Organize and classify the books on the shelves;
- Participate in setting up promotions and displays in store;
- Answer the phone;
- Manage sales transactions;
- Participate in the management of stock and orders for new books.
The requirements
- To adhere to the mission and values of CLC and to have an interest in Christian literature;
- Knowledge of basic computer tools (cash register software, inventory management, etc.);
- Experience in customer service or sales (a major asset);
- Passion for literature and good knowledge of the book industry;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Proficiency in various languages (English, Spanish, etc.).
Job type
- Full-time: 35 hours/week
- Part-time: 15 to 25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
