The unsuspected power of consolation
When someone is suffering, they need to be understood, listened to and consoled.
Comforted and not advised.
<I understand you> is a book which draws its essence from the great ordeal of my life: the suicide of my son Philippe. Everyone is capable of encouraging but few are skilled at validating others in their distress. Counselor means: <I am here with you in your suffering.> I have experienced this power of consolation through a few skillful people and through the presence of the Holy Spirit.
An essential book in these difficult times.
