In this second volume of John Calvin's Commentaries on the New Testament, the reformer focuses on an in-depth study of the Gospel according to John.
With his approach that is simultaneously theological, precise, and attentive to the biblical text, Calvin explores the words and works of Jesus as recorded by John. He notably highlights the great truths that run through this Gospel: the person of Christ, his divinity, faith, salvation, grace, and the new life in God.
This commentary allows for the rediscovery of a well-known text from a rich and structured perspective, by connecting the explanation of passages to the great questions of the Christian faith. A valuable resource for those who wish to go beyond a quick reading of the Gospel and deepen their understanding of the biblical text verse by verse.
A work that is particularly interesting for personal study, the preparation of teachings, or for any reader eager to discover the depth of John Calvin’s biblical thought.
