If you want to hang a dog, you first say it is mad. By conflating all forms of radical dissent with the most brutal extremism, the society of the spectacle neutralizes true radicalism: Islamists or degrowth advocates, all in the same bag! In doing so, it prevents us from changing our imagination and structures and organizes the status quo. In this fool's game, the citizen is nothing more than a voter, and democracy nothing more than a supermarket.
And political alternation stifles alternatives. These variations on the root address the problem at its base. Faced with the reign of the artificial and the superficial that plunges us into an ungrounded, sanitized world, they rehabilitate rootedness. Faced with a market globalization that threatens our cultures as well as our living conditions, they propose a radical conversion of our ways of life and thought.
Rootedness against "uberization," radicality against the established disorder. Not to turn back, but to continue to live.
