The French language is rich in proverbs and colorful expressions, which are very useful for communicating truths in a dynamic and vivid way. Some sayings are recent, others have distant origins, and those drawn from biblical texts are not uncommon, as our culture is so steeped in Christian traditions. Here are 365 biblical meditations based on sayings, proverbs, idioms, and popular expressions from France and elsewhere. These daily readings invite us to explore our common expressions to draw spiritual applications from them. Each reading recalls the origin of the expression of the day, links it to a biblical passage or theme, and then invites us to meditate on a scripture text to lead us into personal reflection. A wonderful diversity of themes to offer nourishing and inspiring thoughts throughout the year.
