As its title indicates, Towards the Land of Canaan symbolically evokes the conquest of the Hebrew people led by Joshua of this country which is today Israel. It is therefore not surprising that there is a question of spirituality in Towards the Land of Canaan , but also of love and inner struggles, subjects that the poet approaches without modesty although he has long hesitated to put into words these themes are heavy with meaning and sometimes controversial.
