We are constantly being shaped by the world around us. To be shaped by Jesus, we must become his disciples.
Living by what the early Christian disciples called a rule of life transforms the deepest parts of our being so that we become like Christ. In doing so, we create space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do.
These ancient practices have much to offer us. By learning to reorganize our days, we can follow the way of Jesus. We can be with him. Become like him. And do as he did.
John Mark Comer was a pastor in Portland, Oregon. He is now a teacher and the author of several New York Times bestsellers.
