Why, even today, are so many women victims of violence, contempt, and inequality, sometimes even within so-called Christian societies? While certain practices persist in various parts of the world, we must question the situation in our own contexts. Men, often in the name of misunderstood religious traditions, claim authority over women, particularly in the family sphere. This book offers an in-depth and rigorous analysis of the texts of the apostle Paul, frequently invoked to justify relations of domination between the sexes. Yet, far from devaluing women, Paul recognizes their full dignity and essential role in the Church, in society, and in the family. This study invites us to return to the biblical foundations of a relationship between men and women based on reciprocity, complementarity, and love.
