Love that animates me, Divine Love,
Make me like Your clear sky
In which the colors parade freely,
As if this sky did not exist.
O forces contained in the love of God,
O depths of the divine heart,
O Love that does not weaken, reveal yourself
And flood this world with You.
Born in 1867, Amy Carmichael was the eldest of a large Christian family living in Millisle, Northern Ireland. It was marked very early by the adage “nothing is more important than what is eternal.” This worldview became the foundation of his service to the Lord, first among Irish workers and then briefly among the Japanese. She then went to India where she began her ministry to children in 1895. She remained there until her death in 1951.
