Since his retirement, Richard F. Doulière is still active as a traveler and teacher. The commentary on the Romans, the first important work he wrote, had been requested of him. It was not without apprehension that he accepted. But the reception that was given to the work and especially the preface that Henri Blocher wrote, justified several editions, including the one now offered by Éditions Emmaüs. The richness of the epistle and the seriousness of the commentary, although presented with great simplicity, allow us to believe that it will still be of great service to many faithful and, in particular, to those who serve the Lord.
Everyone who knows Richard Doulière knows his love of the Word, and the tireless attention he pays to the detail of the sacred text. If he in turn approaches the Epistle to the Romans, it is because he has discovered in it new jewels to sparkle. This is what Richard Doulière's friends will think, and they will not be disappointed.
