One of the biggest obstacles we face in spending time alone with God is the lack of a flexible, balanced structure to guide us. The purpose of this book is to provide you with a means to help you in your daily appointments with God.
We use the term “daily appointments” on purpose. This experience differs from what we call in our circles personal worship or meditation time. The appointments proposed in this work are practiced at least twice a day and they are not so much an opportunity to turn to God to obtain something as to be with God.
Throughout the pages, Peter Scazzero takes us on a forty-day spiritual journey. He encourages us to refocus on Christ, to dig “below the surface” of our lives, to rediscover the virtues of silence, the Sabbath and contemplation.
These daily appointments with God, practiced consistently, allow us to eliminate the division between the sacred and the secular and to regularly remind ourselves of His presence in our lives. We invite you to start this journey!
