Truly, truly... When Jesus takes the time to repeat this expression, he wants to make it clear that he is not wasting his time, that what he is saying is important. And that we must take it accordingly. Furthermore, it should be noted that Jesus did not claim: Before Abraham was, “I was,” and that would be grammatically correct. But instead he said: “I AM,” because, for him, time does not exist.
Have you not had the experience some times in your life, especially in times of adversity, when it seemed to you that God was not present? The period described in the first chapter of Exodus is one such period – a time when to all appearances God was silent. Nevertheless, God was there. We will learn to see His hand in these “silent times” more closely.
