Ecclesia was born at Pentecost in the year 30, almost 2000 years ago. In all its generations it has known countless heroes. Some anonymous, others in varied social and economic contexts. Each of them sought, as best they could, to hold high the standard of faith and to share their convictions with their contemporaries.
The stories in this fourth volume take place during the times of the Awakenings between 1700 and 1860. They tell us of a Church which mobilizes spiritually to bring the Gospel to new lands or to the poorest and most despised people.
The 12 characters presented in this work are all the pioneers of a new world. Whether they were missionaries, social reformers, committed politicians, they have radiant witnesses of their Lord.
The historical accounts in this book are supplemented by short thematic explanations, to allow readers of all ages to better understand this pivotal period in the history of Ecclesia.
