Miracles occupy a significant place in the biblical story. From the book of Exodus, “signs and wonders” play a crucial role in the founding text of Israel. In the New Testament, how can we evoke the ministry of Jesus, then of his disciples, without mentioning their miracles? This is why Christians have never stopped asking themselves: how to understand biblical miracles? What senses do they recognize? What place should the Church give to the miraculous in its teaching, in its mission or in the pastoral care of the sick? What is the connection between faith and miracles?
To answer these questions and others, the book gives voice to the texts again, in order to develop a biblical theology of miracles. The reader will journey through the texts of Scripture, discovering the meaning given to miraculous signs. Because miracles want to tell us something about God and his work.
