What are the differences between Catholics and Protestants?
This question is not easy to answer in a few pages. This brochure therefore does not claim to exhaust the subject.
William Clayton here becomes the spokesperson for evangelical Protestants, faithful to the main doctrines of the Reformation and anxious, like the reformers, to submit in faith to the authority of Scripture, the Word of God.
He first evokes two teachings of Catholicism to which Protestants do not adhere: the dogma of the infallibility of the Pope as head of the Church, and the cult of the Virgin Mary.
Next, he draws our full attention to the two fundamental differences between Catholics and Protestants: the overarching question of authority in matters of Christian faith and life, and the all-important doctrine of salvation.
The author leads us to focus on the Bible, the inspired Word of God, in which the path of salvation in Jesus Christ is revealed to all those who believe.
Originally from Great Britain, William Clayton worked as an evangelist and pastor within the Belgian Evangelical Mission for around forty years. He is the author of several works, including Mary according to the Bible and according to the Catholic Church . He is married and the father of four children.
