We are all aware that we live in a secularized world, no matter which Western country we live in.
Something seems to have happened that has never happened before: though we know neither when, nor why, nor how, nor where. Men have abandoned God, not, they say, for other gods, but to do without any god at all: this has never been seen before.
How can we understand modernity? As Christians, should we flee from it, oppose it, adapt to it, integrate into it? How can we be witnesses to the Gospel in a secularized society?
The reflection of Klaas RUNIA, professor of practical theology at the Faculty of Theology of Kampen in the Netherlands, invites us to take up the challenge!
