It is the logical and essential continuation of “spiritual gifts”. This subject of the fruit of the Spirit has inspired many Christian authors, but the interest of the present work lies in the examination of this great biblical truth in the light of the Pentecostal experience.
The New Testament speaks of the gifts and fruit of the Spirit in delightful harmony and perfect balance. If for generations much importance was given to the fruit to the detriment of the gifts, the people of Pentecost must not make the opposite error. True holiness is not the product of a “work” (a word associated rather with the flesh in Galatians chapter 5 verse 19) but the natural result, the “fruit” of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.
