Welcome to East Salem. A city that seems asleep where ancient supernatural forces are awakening.
A high school student is found murdered in a park among the horse farms and wealthy homes of northern Westchester County, New York. The shocking manner in which she was killed intrigues forensic psychiatrist Dani Harris. All of the suspects are teenagers who were at a party with the girl, but none remember what happened. Could one of them be a vicious killer? Or is something more sinister brewing, linked to an ancient evil?
But it's not just her waking hours that pose a problem for Dani. Every night, his eyes open at 2:13 a.m. due to disturbing dreams. Dreams filled with blood, water and destruction.
Is this a clue or a supernatural sign?
Across town, former NFL linebacker Tommy Gunderson discovers his state-of-the-art security system has been breached by an elderly woman. Muttering threats in Latin, she attacks him with a strange, supernatural force. Before he has time to process this attack, one of his relatives is involved in the murder of the young girl in the park. He agrees to help and finds himself working with Dani, the only girl who was able to resist his charm years ago when they were in high school.
A heavy darkness spreads. Yet a celestial force is also at work.
Dani and Tommy suspect there is more than murder to this mystery, more than chance to their growing friendship...and more than just a human killer to the evil they face.
