The text of the present edition is that of the Bible translated by Louis Segond, as it was printed in 1910, in the “New revised edition, with parallels”, by the British and Foreign Bible Society.
The parallels at the top of the paragraphs have been maintained exactly as they are found in the aforementioned Bible. On the other hand, the parallels in columns have been replaced by “references” immediately following the verses to which they relate. This change aims to make it easier to search for corresponding texts.
Two parallel biblical signs have been preserved:
- cf means compare (Latin: confer) and indicates a rapprochement rather than a parallel per se.
- ( ) parentheses are used to group a family of passages.
- References are marked in the text using the first letters of the alphabet in small italic lower case letters.
- Footnotes have not been reproduced.
- In the appendix, a Harmony of the Gospels will help the reader in the study of the life of Jesus.
