God, Jesus Christ, the Spirit, the angels, the devil, the demons, man… Trinity, election, predestination, inerrance…
The Christian faith is so simple and so complicated at the same time! We would like to leave the big questions to specialists, to theologians, but Charles C. Ryrie is not of this opinion:
Theology is for everyone. Everyone should be a theologian. Besides, everyone is in one way or another. This is where the problem lies. There is nothing wrong with being an amateur or professional theologian; on the other hand, it is particularly regrettable to be an ignorant or negligent theologian… In a fundamental sense, everyone is a theologian. Even the atheist has his theology. He ponders the question of God, rejects his existence and expresses his conclusions, sometimes in the form of a creed but in all cases through his lifestyle.
To help us in our approach, the author explains the doctrinal elements which constitute the Christian faith. He does so from an evangelical point of view, but without neglecting to mention and address the main debates, current or past, within Protestantism and Christianity in general.
A work to consult regularly to have valuable points of reference in the current jungle of opinions.
