Series: Life Lessons for Tender Hearts
Henri's sister, Hortense, like many children, must wear braces. Because of this device, she has difficulty pronouncing certain words, which deeply annoys Henri. One day, he makes fun of her in front of their friends and deeply hurts his sister. Since then, Henri has felt very bad. He tries to be nice to Hortense, but that doesn't change anything. When he learns in Sunday school what guilt is and what God wants us to do when we have sinned, the unexpected path of forgiveness opens before him. With courage, he does what he must do to make things right with God and with Hortense.
This story is part of the “Life Lessons for the Tender Heart” series.
Henri makes fun of his sister helps us concretely, relying on grace, to understand why we feel guilty and what we should do when we feel guilty.
