At a time of globalization of Christianity

If the essence of Christian mission in the 21st century still consists of crossing geographical, cultural and social barriers, it is no longer based on simple North-South exchanges. It has in some way been democratized and has become an effort of the Church as a whole.

Samuel Escobar explores the ways in which the Christian faith is spreading in a context of globalization and highlights positive behavior, factors of respect and valuing of others, not forced standardization. His original and stimulating thinking draws on his missionary experience, biblical texts as well as contributions from history, social sciences and theology. It offers a motivating vision for the mission of today and tomorrow.

The collection MULTICULTURAL VOICES offers works on the Christian faith and its concrete applications, written by authors from all regions of the world and members of the Lausanne Convention.

Peruvian by birth, Samuel Escobar has lived in several countries in Europe and South and North America. He is currently professor of missiology at a theology faculty in Pennsylvania (USA) and consultant for the Council of International Ministries in Valencia, Spain. He is also president of the International Union of University Bible Groups and the World Bible Societies.
