Prepared by Brother André and coordinated by Paul Estabrooks of the Portes Ouvertes mission, Operation Pearl was carried out in June 1981 with military rigor. It was the largest smuggling of Bibles in history, during which a million Bibles were landed in one night to meet the urgent need of Chinese Christians.
Paul Estabrooks has worked for the persecuted Church for over 30 years. He now lives in Canada where he exercises a visiting ministry with persecuted Christians.
