You and me forever, marriage in the light of eternity
Marriage is fabulous, but it doesn't last forever. It only exists until death do us part.
Then will come the rewards or eternal remorse, depending on what we have done with our lives. A jealous God asks us to earnestly seek Him first. Life then takes on its full meaning and each of its aspects finds its rightful place. Love, laughter and intimacy were created for us to enjoy. It is therefore possible to love your family fully without neglecting eternity. This requires us to focus our gaze in the right direction. If we can't afford to let mundane things destroy our marriages, we also can't allow marriage to distract us from what's important. A jealous God indeed asks us to pursue Him first. Everything makes sense afterwards, because everything is in its place. Francis Chan is the author of Crazy Love, Forgotten God and Multiply Yourself.
