The right foundation
The good foundation by Olivier Favre. Originally, the doctrinal presentations which constitute this work were given in the form of sermons in 1994 and 1995 at the Reformed Baptist Church of Lausanne. Faced with the interest aroused by these teachings and following a lady's proposal to type up all of these sermons, Olivier Favre decided to bring them together in this book. The oral style has been maintained and thus leaves the reader with a text that is easy and direct to approach. It is good to examine from time to time the foundation on which a building rests. Indeed, a building may appear to be in good health, but suddenly begin to falter, revealing a faulty foundation. According to Ephesians 2:21, the Church of Jesus Christ is likened to a building built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets. It is therefore important to examine the confession of faith and teaching of the local Church from time to time to verify its content in the light of biblical teaching. It is in fact on conformity to the doctrine of the Apostles that the solidity of the construction will depend.
After studying at the Institut Biblique de Lamorlaye and the Free Faculty of Reformed Theology in Aix-en-Provence, Olivier Favre was a pastor in Lausanne. He currently exercises his ministry in Payerne and Neuchâtel.
